SET C: Kicks & Escapes

Today we are practicing the rabo de arraia kick. It translates to the “stingray’s tail” because it involves us extending one leg out and circling it behind us. We’ll move in and out of the kick, traveling low to the ground and back up again each time. When we’re low to the ground we’re actually transitioning in and out of low lunges that are the escape movement we’d do if we were in a game where a partner was doing the rabo de arraia kick. Using a stool as a center point, we’ll go through the kick-escape-kick-escape sequence in the round. Take your time practicing each kick. This is a full-body exercise and supports you with increasing coordination and improving agility.
