SET B: Front Leg Sweep

 

Today we’re practicing a kick in capoeira called, meia lua de frente. It engages the quadriceps especially, but also increases strength and flexibility in the knees and ankle complexes. This is vital for effective movement and for reducing the risk of injury other exercises. For today’s workout, practice taking your time moving into the kick, and testing your balance whenever one leg is in the air moving across your front. The goal is not so much how high you can kick, but rather how well can your sustain your ease of motion and transition to the next movement.
