SET C: Let’s Kick It

 

We’re going to activate the energy in our legs. These are the kicks that complement the Great Escapes we practiced in the previous workout. Practicing the basic kicks in capoeira in a continuous flow gives us a chance to really warm and tone the major muscle systems of the legs. We also get to improve balance and coordination as we spin, bend, and extend to perform each kick. Even though the kick is expressed mainly through the legs, we’re using our whole body to set up and follow through on each kick. The combined effort to prepare and kick creates an intense cardio workout. Do your best to keep moving and engage the momentum of every turn to power your kick.
