Birthworkers have families too.
Oasis Birth House is a program within TheFamily Dances that seeks to create more space, visibility, and opportunities for birthworkers who want to grow and develop their practices within a family-accessible learning environment. We also provide virtual Breastfeeding Support and Fertility Dreams services.
Programming Partners Welcome…
We are currently preparing for a soft opening of the Oasis Birth House at our home studio in Washington, DC in fall 2019. Interested birthworkers, community members, and families are encouraged to reach out for more information about opportunities for participating and collaborating in all that is to come.
Centering black women’s fertility, Birth & Babies
Oasis Birth House is addressing the critical need for black mothers and their families to have more access to loving birthworkers who honor our humanity and our rights to reproductive freedoms. We recognize that part of improving outcomes for ourselves, our families, and our communities means reimagining what birthworker education can look like. Oasis Birth House is creating sustainable, family-accessible, learning spaces where birthworkers can continue to cultivate and hone their skills in intentionally shared space with their children, partners, and supporting family members.
