Some excerpts of pieces in development will also be performed.

ABOUT LIBERATED BOOTY

Liberated Booty is a movement methodology that explores the kinetic application of fertile radiance in our bodies as mothers and women. It invites participants to become hyper-present with the abundance of their own embodied creative powers, and to engage their dancing body as a generative site for identifying and actualizing their wildest fertility dreams.

Join us for an afternoon of dancing, visioning, fertility dreams, and mothering magic on the first day of the new year. Bring offerings of delicious food and drinks, snacks that will keep our munchkins happy while we are dancing, money to bless TheFamily Dances’ home studio, activities and games for the children, and your beautiful, positive vibes. Wear comfortable clothes that make you feel liberated, lovely, and vibrant. We’ll dance, play, sing, eat, and pour out our embodied truths into the ever-spinning portal of the ringshout.

The ringshout will center the movements, stories, and dreams of black mothers and women. And the ringshout is open to all the mothers and women in our village who carry love and liberation in their hearts. We will be activating the rotation of the ringshout with liberated booty and other life-affirming, fertility-centered dance practices.

Menfolk and other family folk are welcome to be in the space if that’s what Mama needs so that she can be present and dance and commune in peace.
